Helen Elizabeth Dugovich (nee: Rozsos), 103 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at her home, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born March 7, 1918, in Henrietta, Ohio where she was raised, graduating from Henrietta High School in a one room schoolhouse. Helen had made her home in Middleburg Heights for over forty years, before moving to Amherst in 2020.
Helen loved life fully and was known to be very feisty. She felt fulfilled by her life as a loving wife, homemaker, sister and aunt. She was always fond of dogs and treasured her pets. She was employed at Bendix in Elyria for many years before her marriage to her husband Frank. Helen was a member of St. Bartholomew Church in Middleburg Heights.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of fifty-nine years, Frank Antone Dugovich, on February 13, 2020; her siblings, Ben J. Rozsos, “Bo” Roger Rozsos, Rose Schneider, Margaret Kinsley, Julia Denger and Elizabeth Rozsos as an infant; and by parents, Benjamin and Rose Rozsos (nee: Katko).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. until the time of closing prayers at 1:30 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O'Connor will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/ . Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
