Harold Anderson Obituary

Harold Eugene Anderson, 87 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. 

He was born November 15, 1933, in Canton, Ohio. Harold was raised in Galion Ohio before enlisting in the United States Navy where he proudly served his county.  In the 1960’s, he moved to the Lorain and Amherst area where he resided until his passing.

Harold was employed as a machinist at Nordson Corporation in Amherst for thirty-five years before retiring.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst.  Harold enjoyed taking family trips out west and especially enjoyed Bryce Canyon and Yellowstone.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed its wildlife. 

Those who will cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Patricia Anderson (nee: Price); his son, Terry Anderson of Amherst; his half sister, Marlene Burt of Croton, OH. Ohio

He was preceded in death by his son Micheal Anderson; his daughter Julie Anderson; his parents, Clair Anderson and Laura Neuman (nee: Varnes); his stepfather, Harry Neuman; and his half brother, Robert Anderson.

Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:45 am.at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst.  Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/ . The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or National Right to Life; 1446 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 or St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH 44001 .
