Grace "Pat" Patricia (Banasik) Conrad

Grace Patricia “Pat” Conrad (nee: Banasik), 89 years of age, and a resident of  Amherst, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at The Woods of French Creek  following a brief illness.

Pat was born October 17, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY,  and raised by her grandparents in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania.  She resided in Avon Lake for about 40 years before moving to Amherst where she had made her home.  

Pat was a waitress at the historic Olde English Parlour in Avon Lake for twenty-three years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst where she volunteered at bingo night.  She enjoyed bingo and going to casinos.  By far she treasured time spent with her family, grandkids, and great grandkids going out to dinner or at family gatherings where she delighted in cooking Sunday dinners  for the group.  

Survivors include her children Wesley Conrad of Brownhelm Twp.; Terry (Judy) Conrad of Summerville, SC; Russell Conrad of Elyria; Melisa Conrad of Lorain; Kelly (Pete) Schuler of Brownhelm Twp.; Seventeen grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, James Ludden Conrad; her children, Norene Rollins, Brian Conrad, Brenda Conrad; sixteen siblings; her grandparents Joseph and Mary Kapella; and her parents, Chester and Irene Banasik (nee: Rice).

Friends will be received on Wednesday,  September 7, 2022, from 2- 4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held  Thursday at 2 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst.  Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor will officiate.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst, Ohio 44001 .
