Georgina Carrion (nee: Guzman), 88 years of age, and a resident of Hackensack, New Jersey, passed away November 7, 2021, at her home.
She was born January 13,1933, in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico and moved to Lorain, Ohio in 1948 with her husband Salvador Carrion. She raised seven children and maintained a home where she taught her children that Love is the binding influence in a family.
Georgina Carrion was married at the tender age of 13 years and maintained her marriage vow for 72 years. She was an example to all her children and was known to not have a disagreement with anyone her entire life choosing to cover any offenses by demonstrating that the power of Love is greater than the power of an offense. Her work ethic was renowned and through her exemplary life she gained many clients who invariably also became her friends. She was known to love everyone: friend, family or acquaintances in a like manner without showing preferences in any way whatsoever. She will be greatly missed but in turn will never be forgotten.
Georgina was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was employed as a Seamstress/Tailor for Joseph & Feiss Clothing and for local Bridal Shops.
Survivors include her sons, James Carrion of Groveland, FL, Rev. Evon (Linda) Carrion of Hackensack, NJ; her daughters, Luz Kathy (James) Spatharos of New Bern, N.C., Doris (Mark) Shaffer and Nelly (William) Bonewitz both of Lorain, Ohio and Christina (Houshang) Sanaii of Westlake, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 ½ years Salvador Rivera Carrion and her son Edward Carrion.
Public visitation will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Her son, Rev. Evon Carrion, pastor of The Church of New York City will be the officiating minister. Burial will take place at New Russia Township Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
