Gail Arlene Gauman, 81 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away September 22, 2021, at University Hospital following a brief illness.
Gail was born January 9, 1940, in Amherst, Ohio, and raised in South Amherst, graduating from South Amherst High School with the class of 1958 and was a lifetime resident of South Amherst.
Gail worked for A&C Tire for over 30 years as account manager. She was a member of St. John UCC in South Amherst. Her joy in life was connecting with her many family and friends. She especially found great joy in spending time with her many nieces and nephews and investing into their lives.
Survivors include her brothers, Dale A. Gauman (Erla) of Lorain and Wayne H. Gauman (Julene) of Lorain; and many other beloved nieces and nephews who were treasured by “Auntie Gail”, especially her nephew, Todd Gauman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Virginia Gauman (nee: Winson).
Public reception and memorial service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Nov 4, 2021 at 11am at St. John United Church of Christ 204 Leonard St, South Amherst, Ohio. The Rev. Melvin Saylor, pastor of will officiate. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice or New Life Hospice.
