Freddie Canterbury, 81 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away April 28, 2022, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Freddie was born August 11, 1940, in Lenore, W. VA., and was raised there until moving to Lorain Co. where he remained the rest of his life.
Freddie was employed at Lorain Ford Plant as an assembler for 31 years before retiring in 1996. He was a former member of Vermilion Church of Christ and currently a member of the Toledo Road Church of Christ in Lorain and the Jonesville Church of Christ in N.C. For 25 years, He loved to winter in North Carolina. He also loved his1965 mustang, gardening, and sitting in the sun.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Suetta Jane Canterbury (nee: Cumberledge); children, Shonna Canterbury of Oberlin, and Shane Canterbury of Wakeman; his two grandchildren, Cameron Jimison and Shaylin Canterbury; and one great grandchild Braxton Metzger.
He was preceded in death by his four siblings; and his parents Gilbert and Frankie Canterbury(nee: Bryant).
A private graveside committal will be held by the family.
