Evelyn Jane Nagy

Evelyn Jane Nagy (nee: Peck), 88 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away  Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

She was born June 10, 1932 in Elyria.  Evelyn graduated from Avon High School with the class of 1950.  Upon her marriage to Louis they moved to Henrietta and in 1959 they moved to Amherst where she had resided until her passing.

Evelyn was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Amherst School System at Powers School in Amherst.  She also was employed at Sparkle Market in Amherst for 23 years.  She loved being a mother and taking care of her family. Evelyn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst.  She loved to shop and travel.  Evelyn enjoyed playing cards with friends.  She loved all animals, especially Siamese cats.  Evelyn was a member of the American Legion, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Eagles all in Amherst...

Survivors include her children Louis Nagy, William Nagy and Linda J. Nagy, all of Amherst. and her sister Ruth Ann Brackley of Brownhelm Township and many nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years Louis Nagy on June 2, 2014; her brothers William and Robert Peck;  and her parents James and Eva Peck (nee: Webber).

Public visitation and funeral for family and friends will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 morning by reservation at  https://signup.com/go/GnyEctxor by calling 440-988-4451 during business hours at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, OH. . Rebroadcasting of services will be available at YOUTUBE/Hempel Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH 44001 o the Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
