Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Wohlever (nee: Muska), 86 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Kingston of Vermilion.
Betty was born March 3, 1935 in Brownhelm, and raised in Brownhelm until moving to Amherst in 1952.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. She was employed by the Amherst school district in the cafeteria as a cook. She was a member of the Amherst Womens’ VFW Auxiliary. Her family was the center of her life and she organized all the family gatherings, She was known for her Hungarian cooking and baking. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan even holding season tickets for several years. She was a Boy Scout den mother and was involved in many activities surrounding her family’s interests.
Survivors include her children Richard Wohlever of Lorain; Thomas Wohlever of Amherst; Diane and Patrick Hamilton of Amherst; Ann and Michael Walters of Amherst; Lisa and Chuck O’Connor of Collins; her grandchildren Jennifer and Brian Drop, Trisha Wohlever, Michael Hamilton; Sarah and Andrew Simmons, and Thomas Wohlever; her great grandchildren Katelyn Drop, Jason Drop, Aria Barbera, and Elijah Simmons; her brother Ronald Muska and her sister Sandy Garra.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years William P. Wohlever; her daughter Barbara Fuller; her grandchildren Erin Wohlever and PJ Hamilton; her brothers Edward, Robert, and Richard Muska; and her parents Michael and Elizabeth Muska (nee: Venzel).
Friends may call Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will take place Monday at 10 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor will officiate.
