Edward H. Farley, 85 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away, Monday, March 13, 2023 at his home, following a brief illness.
He was born June 13, 1937 in Rachel, West Virginia where he was raised until entering the United States Navy. After his service, he moved to Lorain then to Amherst where he had resided until his passing.
He was employed at Ford Motor Company in Lorain for thirty-one years before retiring as a tow motor operator. Edward was a member of the Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442. He loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. Edward loved family gatherings and the fellowship and laughter that came with them. He excelled at corn hole and dominated many of the family tournaments.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Beulah Ganelle (nee: Tennant); his children, Edward H. Farley Jr. (Julie) of Carlisle Township, Theresa Gerharninger, Keith Farley and Brian Farley all of Amherst; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his siblings, Richard W. (Pat) Farley, Charles Farley, Barbara Wasley and Judith Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Farley, John Farley, and Betty Schwing; and his parents Walter and Mary Farley (nee: Webb).
Friends may call Monday, March 20, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
