Drew Parker

Drew Parker, 61 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Drew was born July 27, 1960, in  Lorain, and raised in Elyria Township, graduating from Elyria West High School in 1978.  After graduation, he remained an Elyria resident for the duration of his life. 

Drew was employed as a machinist at Ohio Service Products for thirty three years. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church for thirteen plus years. Outside of work, Drew was a skilled wood luthier and was able to build fine instruments, furniture, and models. He loved bluegrass music and loved to play the mandolin. However, his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. He was a quiet man, who loved playing and laughing with his family. He also was a loyal, faithful, hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

Survivors include his wife of thirty five years Cally Eileen (nee: Budka): his children, Amanda (Chad) Duley of Wellington, Jason “Drew” (Jessica) Parker of Elyria, Andrea (Todd) Straub of New London, and Jessica Ann (Michael) Tharp of Elyria Twp.; his 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his mother, Roma Lou Parker (nee: Hamilton).

He was preceded in death by his father, Drew Parker, Sr.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022, 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Gospel Church of Vermilion, 320 Aldrich Rd, Vermilion, OH 44089.  Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . The Rev. Joshua Budka, pastor of Trinity Gospel Church will officiate.  Burial will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
