Dorothy Lee Pollack (nee:Stargel), 92 years of age, and a resident of Henrietta Township, passed away and was reunited with her husband Milan “Buck” on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born May 11, 1928, in Amherst, Ohio. Dorothy was raised and lived in Henrietta Township, graduating from South Amherst High School with the class of 1946.
She was employed at Firelands High School for thirty years before retiring in 1988, as the head cook. Dorothy was a member of South Amherst First Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons Gerald (Pamela nee:Jones) Pollack of Oberlin and David (Sheila nee:Vandersommen) Pollack of Elyria; her grandchildren Ross Pollack, Kirk Pollack, Lisa (Bruce) Zabrecky; Katherine Pollack; her great grandchildren Drew (Larissa) Pollack, Brooke (Dale) Beetler; Nathan and Max Zabrecky; Myleia (Kyreece) Little, Joe Holt, Jr., her great great grandchildren Ariel Beetler and Ayden Little.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty eight years Milan Victor "Buck" Pollack on August 29, 2014; and her parents Walter Clayton and Lassie W. Stargel (nee: Cowart).
Public visitation and funeral for family and friends will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5th, 2021, by reservation at https://signup.com/go/VFVXGms or by calling 440-988-4451 during business hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, OH. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
