Donald Joseph Krueck

Donald Joseph Krueck, 58 years of age, and a lifetime resident of South Amherst, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home.

He was born February 9, 1966, in Amherst.  Don was a lifetime resident of South Amherst, graduating from South Amherst High School. He also was a graduate of Lorain County Community College, earning two Associate Degrees. 

He was employed at Amherst Plaza, Ohio Turnpike for the last thirty-nine years. Don was a lifelong member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, where he sang in the choir and served as a trustee. He loved Cedar Point and spent many hours helping his special needs friend John to enjoy the rides. Don enjoyed boating with friends and family, attending sporting events especially the local Firelands School events, as well as going to a variety of contemporary and vintage music concerts.  

Survivors include his aunt, Edna (Richard) Berry as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Krueck (nee: Vollmer); and many aunts and uncles. 

Friends may call Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
