Deanna Mae Andrews

Deanna Mae Andrews (nee: Barnett), 78 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, following a brief illness.

She was born November 11, 1944 in Amherst and grew up in Lorain, graduating from Admiral King High School.  Later, she and Tim moved to Amherst where they resided until her passing.

Deanna was employed in banking at the Lorain National Bank for twelve years. She was previously employed at the Lorain Community Hospital Credit Union and retired from Levit Jewelers in Lorain as the office manager. Deanna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst.   She loved being outdoors, playing golf with her husband Tim in the couple's league at Dragon Ranch Golf Course, in Elyria and enjoyed downhill skiing in Colorado and Canada and New York.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Timothy M. Andrews; her daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hokanson of Avon Lake; her grandchildren, Corey, Levi (Samantha), Megan; her great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Jace, Leo; her sisters, Darlene Difilippo and Dawn Miller (Larry) both Lorain; her brother in law, Michael Ireland;  her aunt, Mary Hayes and uncles, Paul and O’Dell Barnett, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Ireland; and her parents, Joe and Lucy Barnett (nee: Branscum).

Friends may call Thursday, August 10, 2023  from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
