David M. Pappas, 58 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville surrounded by his family..
He was born March 19, 1963, in Euclid, Ohio. David had made his home in Elyria for the last eighteen years.
David was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Being a Papa was his greatest joy and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He worked in inside sales for many years where he made lifelong friends. He enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his hobbies included camping with his family, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of Great Lakes Church in Amherst. David was a phenomenal drummer. He enjoyed playing with the church worship team. David had a strong-willed personality that will never be forgotten.
The family would like to thank the staff at O'Neill Healthcare Center in North Ridgeville for the loving care, kindness, and compassion provided to David.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years Christine Pappas (nee: Evans); his children Allison Pappas (Dave), Renee (Christopher) Carman, and Megan (Michael) Ondrejcak; his grandchildren E.J, Gabriella, Sophie and Michael, Jr.; his siblings LuAnn (David) Heckel,, Richard (Jennifer) Pappas, Jr., and Thomas (Nicole) Pappas. He was a loving cousin and uncle to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard, Sr. and Maxine Pappas (nee: Kurzinger).
Friends may call Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2 until the time of the funeral at 6:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Matt Williams, pastor, will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com .
