David C Hayslip

David C. Hayslip, 45 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at his home. 

David was born March 15, 1978, in Lorain but had made his home in Amherst his whole life.  He was a graduate of Clearview High School.  He worked  as a security guard, and then worked as a steelworker at US Steel in Lorain and Detroit. His passions were riding his motorcycle and  playing darts.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Lamont ‘Monte’ Hayslip and his wife, Lark Mitchell Hayslip; his brothers Daniel Hayslip of Lorain and Chad (Rachel) Hayslip of Elyria; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 

David was preceded in death by his mother Linda Jo Hayslip (nee: Muncy); and his grandparents.

Friends may call Monday, October 30,  2023, from 4 pm until the time of the service at 7 pm. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. The Rev. Adam Davis, pastor of Lighthouse Church in Lorain, will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com. 

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Camp Ideas, 3015 Meister Rd, Lorain, Ohio.  .
