Daniel William Bruck

Daniel William Bruck, 88 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at New Life Hospice in Lorain.

He was born November 13, 1934 in Elyria, Ohio, graduating from Elyria Catholic High School. During his high school years, he participated in football, baseball, basketball and swimming. Daniel lived in Amherst for twenty years before moving to Vermilion where he had made his home for the last twenty-three years.

He proudly served in the United States Army. Daniel was employed at Ford Motor Co. in Lorain and Avon finishing his career as a consultant to Ford in developing and launching the following year's models.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst.  Daniel was also a member of the Elyria Elks. In his spare time, Daniel was an avid golfer. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.  Daniel supported all of his grandchildren's activities, including their music and sporting events.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Audrey Bruck (nee: Zvosec); his children, Daniel Bruck (Jody) of South Vienna, Ohio; Rebecca Anne Bruck of Amherst and Lisa Anne Dadas (Jim) of Vermilion; his grandchildren, Daniel Bruck, Adam Bruck, Patrick Bruck, Lauren Dadas, Matthew Dadas, Megan Beal and Robby Beal; his sisters, Anne Close, Freda Schneider and  Brenda Mettler, any many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elaine O’Donnell, Raymond “Sonny” Bruck; and his parents, Raymond and Freda Bruck (nee: Kothe).

Friends may call Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 4 - 8. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  Closing Prayers will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH . The Rev. Timothy O’Connor, pastor, will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
