Cynthia “Cindy” S. Farr (nee: Stocking), 66 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 19, 1957 in New London where she was raised. Cindy had made her home in the Amherst area for over twenty-two years. She was a graduate of New London High School and EHOVE Joint Vocational School in Avery, Ohio with the class of 1975.
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Cindy loved taking care of her family and was a homeschool mom for sixteen years. She loved baking and owned and operated Cinnamon Cindys for five years. Cindy had a servant’s heart and volunteered her time with the Abigail Pregnancy Center in Norwalk for fifteen years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Birmingham. Cindy enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. She was very skilled at wood carving.
Survivors include her loving husband of forty-seven, Howard “Gene” Farr; her children, Sarah Farr and Joshua Farr (Laura); her grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth and Rebekah; her brother, David Stocking; and her niece, Melissa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lillian Stocking (nee: Vacsi).
Friends may call Monday, November 20, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of their choice.
