Cynthia "Cindy" Rae Cole

Cynthia “Cindy” Rae Cole (nee: Lalonde), 63  years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away  Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at her home, following a two year illness.

 

She was born February 18, 1959 in Elyria.  Cindy was a lifetime resident of South Amherst, graduating from South Amherst High School with the class of 1977.  

 

She was employed as a sonographer at various hospitals including University Hospital, Lorain Community Hospital and North Ohio Heart Center for over forty-one years.   Cindy was a lifelong  member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in South Amherst. She loved to watch Dirt Sprint car racing and NASCAR.  As her daughter was growing up, Cindy participated in Girl Scouts and later volunteered as a girl scout leader.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Erica Cole of South Amherst; her mother Bernice Lalonde (nee: Yourkvitch) of South Amherst; her siblings,  Lawrence Angus Lalonde, Jr. (Lisa) of South Amherst and Connie Dawson (Bobby) of Sheffield Township; her nieces and nephews, Kristin, Landon, and Lanna; as well as her four footed family, Brownie the Beagle mix and Luna her Tuxedo cat.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Larry Gerald Cole, on November 14, 2010; her father, Lawrence "Larry" Angus Lalonde on September 9, 2015. 

 

Services will be held privately by the family with a graveside at Evergreen Cemetery.  A public celebration of life will be held at a future date to be announced.

 

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
