Constance “Connie” Mae Flint (nee: Hammond), 73 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Connie was born May 8, 1949, in Amherst and raised in South Amherst. Connie graduated with the class of 1967 from South Amherst High School. Amherst has been her home for the last eight years.
Connie was a proofreader for the Lorain Journal and the Elyria Chronicle Telegram for many years. She loved her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured her time spent caring for people, especially her parents and her sister in their later years. Her lap dog Kash held a special place in her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tammy (Jim) Stanley and Kevin (Rachelle Wilson) Flint, all of South Amherst ; her grandchildren, Codie (Shelly), Madison (Stephen), Kyle, Mason, Grace; her great grandson, Weston; and her siblings, Jack (Joyce) Hammond, Betty Criswell, and Sharlene (Guy) Wharton; as well as many nieces and nephews, and dear friend and neighbor Jeaneen.
Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne K. Jones; and her parents, Herman and Letha Hammond (nee: Barley).
Friends may call Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . The Rev. Farrell Keith, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, South Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
