Coleen M Smith

Coleen M. Smith (nee: McCall), 62 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born January 8, 1959, in Cleveland.  Coleen was raised in Lorain County and had made her home in Amherst for the last fourteen years.

Her primary focus in life was that of being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Coleen was a longtime attendee of Lorain Salvation Army Church. She also attended St. Vincent DePaul Church in Lorain. In her spare time, Coleen enjoyed resale shopping and going to flea markets.  Her hobbies included playing bingo everyday if possible, and spending time with her family fishing.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-one years, Danny Lee Smith; her children, Margarita Carmela McCall of Elyria, Anna Maria McCall of Lorain and Danny Steven Smith of Amherst; twenty-four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her siblings Andrew McCall, Steven McCall, Patrick McCall all of Elyria, and Dawn Turner of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Steven and Jacqueline Joyce McCall (nee: Kennedy).

Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 11:00 until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/.   Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
