Claudia E. Moore (nee: Towne), 82 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away September 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.
Claudia was born September 30, 1938, in Amherst and was a lifelong resident of Amherst.
She was employed at Mullinax Ford for over 20 years as a driver with her husband. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active as a member of the Bell Choir and the Altar Guild. She also was a member of the Willing Workers Funeral Ministry. Her joys in life included trips to Amish Country and Williamsburg,VA, with her husband and children. Her primary joy in life; however, were her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Karen Moore Vilagi (Ken) of South Amherst and Kenneth Moore (Michele (Kneisel) of Amherst; her grandchildren Kathryn Moore, Kenneth Moore, Jr., Madelyn Moore, Tyler Moore, Nathan Moore, Allison and Claire Vilagi, and Hannah Moore; her brothers Ronald Towne (Arlene) of Amherst and Charles Towne (Charlcie) of Medina; and her sister Marie Clotz (Raymond) of South Amherst. .
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Moore; her son Daniel Moore; her brothers Richard Piwinski and Robert Towne; and her parents Claude and Theresa Towne(nee: Piwinski).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio on September 30,2021 with the funeral to follow on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 115 Central Drive, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/. The Rev. Werner, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will take place at Brownhelm Cemetery in Brownhelm Township.
