Christine Ann Hartle (nee: Machovina), 61 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
She was born April 29, 1959 in Elyria, Ohio. Christine had made her home in South Amherst for the last twenty-six years.
She was employed as a machinist at Borger’s in Norwalk and previously at M.A. Harrison’s in Florence Township for many years. Christine was an active member of the Nativity Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where she sang tenor in the choir. She loved sewing and making blankets for her grandchildren. Christine loved fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include her husband, of twenty-six years Jerry Hartle; her daughter, Jammie Frye (Matthew Jr.); her grandchildren, Ezekiel, Ezra, Corazon, Zedediah, Zurie; her siblings, Eugene (Melinda) Machovina of Columbus, Frank (Jennifer) Machovina of North Ridgeville, Philip Machovina of Elyria; Ann Loepp of Lorain, Marie (Bob) Storrow of Wellington, Patricia (Nick) Nickolette of Elyria; Pauline (Tony) Phillips of Wellington; Irene (Rocky) Streets of Lorain; nineteen nieces and nephews and eight sisters and brothers in law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Machovina (nee: Mozak); her maternal grandparents, Paul and Anna Mozak; her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Gertrude Machovina; her in-laws Earl and Ethel Hartle.
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; 1440 West 15th. Street, Lorain, OH. Due to Covid-19, we are asking that people wear a mask and maintain social distances. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/ . The Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Elyria.
