Charles Dean Ross, 74 years of age, and a resident of Brownhelm Township, peacefully passed away in his sleep Sunday, June 14, 2020.
He was born October 30, 1945, in Mansfield, Ohio. Charles had made his home in Brownhelm Township for the last forty-three years.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp serving in Washington, DC. Charles was employed as a millwright at Ford Motor Assembly Plant in Lorain for over thirty years before retiring. He recently was involved restoring the Brownhelm school. Charles was a member of Old Stone Evangelical Church in Amherst. He was active at church managing the church free community breakfast and was part of the building maintenance team which just finished completing a new restroom. Charles was known for his hard work ethic and determined spirit. He enjoyed nothing more than helping his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years Sharon Ross (nee: Straw); his son Craig Ross (Kimberly Spinazzola) of Ypsillanti, Michigan; his daughter Stacie Ross (Douglas Crouch) of Lakewood; his grandchildren Aidan Ross, Eli Ross, Zain Ross, Cameron Crouch, Wyatt Crouch; and his mother Edith Ross (nee: Warren).
He was preceded in death by his brother Don Ross; and his father Virble Ross.
Private family memorial services will be held at Old Stone Evangelical Church; 553 South Main Street, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at YOUTUBE/Hempel Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Reinke, pastor will officiate. Burial will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on July 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Old Stone Evangelical Church; 553 South Main Street, Amherst.
