Catherine Jean Kemp

Catherine Jean Kemp (nee: Bodnar), 66 years of age, and a resident of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 in Southern New Hampshire Medical Center following a one-week illness.

She was born March 14, 1941 in Lorain, Ohio. Catherine was raised in Grafton then moved to Cleveland and back to Lorain. She had made her home in New Hampshire since 2002.

Catherine was a loving housewife and mother. She was a former member of the Moose Club and the American Legion both of Lorain. Catherine LOVED SHOPPING. She enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows, puzzles, playing Yahzee, and relaxing and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons Raymond Kovich and Johnny Kovich, both of Lorain, and Daniel Kovich of Nashua, New Hampshire; her daughters Rachel Mercer and Tracey Bowser, both of Lorain, Robin Rossiter of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lola Bathalon and Kim Kelly, both of Nashua, New Hampshire; her step sons Bob Kemp and Bill Kemp, both of Colorado, and Jack Kemp of South Carolina; her mother Lottie Borrows (nee: Urban); twenty-one grandchildren; her brother George Bodnar of Denver, Colorado; her sisters Evelyn Schumacher of Denver, Colorado and Nancy Boyko of Indianapolis, Indiana; and twelve nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband John Kovich; by her second husband of twenty-nine years Jack Kemp in 2000; by her twin daughters Joan and Judy Kovich; by her twin sister Martha Bodnar; by her father Louis Bodnar; and by her step-father Russle Borrows.

Friends may call Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Warner, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
