Betty Ann Stafford, 90 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s, under the loving care of the staff “Angels” of unit 300 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain.
She was born April 26, 1930 in Huntington, West Virginia to Fred and Mary Metheny who preceded her in death.
Betty was a precious gift to us all. Her kindness and selfless love for all will continue to inspire everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Betty served faithfully in whatever capacity she was asked. She worked for Hills department Store as the office manager for almost forty years.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, John Fernell Stafford, Sr. whom she was married to for forty-seven years; her son John Ferrell Stafford, Jr. in 2018; her siblings Fred Metheny and Margaret Necessary..
Betty will be remembered with love by her daughter Sherian Villers and her husband John Villers of Piqua, OH; her granddaughters, Shanda Browning of Yellow Springs, OH, Larissa Villers-Ferre (Rob) of Holladay, UT, Britney Villers-Hill (Matthew) of Trenton, OH; her daughter in law Linda Stafford of Grafton, OH; her grandchildren John Ferrell, III (Alice) of Louisville, KY, Matthew Stafford (Lesa) of Grafton, OH, Maureen Crawford (Brad) of Henrietta Township, OH, Ken Stafford (Karrie) of Avon, OH; her great grandchildren Alex, Tyler and Brent Crawford, Tricia Stafford, Amber Stafford, Nicholas Stafford, Max and Braelin Browning and Olive Villers-Hill.
Betty was a shining light to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park; 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst.
