Barbara Ann Lester

Barbara Ann Lester (nee: Smith), 78 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the home of her daughter Penny.

She was born June 12, 1942 in LaPorte, Indiana.  Barbara moved to Lorain as a child and had made her home with her husband Kenneth until 1994.  They moved to Tennessee where they lived for twenty-six years before moving back to Elyria to be closer to family.  Barbara along with her husband Kenneth completed their high school studies together while living in Tennessee.

Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker.  Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always loved to tell her children how much she loved them.  Barbara accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour and was baptized at Victory Baptist Temple in Elyria.   

Among those who will cherish Barbara’s memory is her loving husband of sixty years Kenneth Lester; her children Kenneth Lester, Jr. (Darla) of San Antonio, Texas, Penny Lester and Suzanne White (Dennis) both of Elyria; her grandchildren Alisha Lester, Brandi Lester, Johnathan Lester, Bethany White, Holly White, Dennis White, Jr., (Kyley), Jason White and Heather Young (Elijah); her great grandchildren Alex, Darla, Kenny, Jr., Mike, Aris, Liberty, Dennis III, Aiden and Orion; her sister Darlene Bennet (Dave) of Elkins, W.Va., and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Garl and Charleen Smith (nee: Brown), and her brother Ron Smith. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 38079 Center Ridge Road, North RIdgeville, Ohio.  The Pastor Dennis White, Sr. her son in law, will officiate.
