Audrey B. Wurgler (Furin), 80 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her home, following a brief illness.
She was born December 12, 1942 in Cleveland. Audrey has made her home in Amherst for the last fifteen years.
Audrey loved sewing and was a gifted seamstress. She loved taking care of her family and treasured the time she spent with them and with her friends. Audrey enjoyed Japanese art that featured butterflies and tigers. Before her illness, she loved baking and providing Christmas crafts for her family.
Survivors include her children, Samantha Jones (Jeff) of Lorain, Sherry Devereaux (John) of Wellington, Edward Wurgler (Rhonda) of Chippewa Lake, Rodney Wurgler (Keisha) of Sparta, Missouri; her grandchildren, John Devereaux III, Misty Scheiman (Joe), Kylie Braun (Ashton), Kensie Wurgler, Catie Ball, Lexie Jones, Chad Jones and Dale Wurgler; her great grandchildren, Emma, Derek, Claire, Alayna, Taylor, Garrett; her great great granddaughter, Ava Rose and her sister Sandy Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wurgler on February 2, 2010; her sister, Gayle O’Connell; and her parents.
Friends may call Monday, October 16, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 6:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
