Anita Tellier Obituary

Anita Louise Tellier (nee: Figler),  73 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away  Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Anita was born October 22, 1949 in Lorain, Ohio.  She made her home in Elyria Township for thirty years before moving to Amherst where she resided for the last twenty-one years. 

She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Elyria, and also enjoyed attending services at St. Joseph Church in Amherst and Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in South Amherst. 

She graduated from M.B. Johnson  School of Nursing in 1969.  Anita enjoyed working as  a Registered Nurse for many years, but especially enjoyed her years working at the City of Elyria Health Department  with the Mother and Babies Assessment team. She also served as a nurse at St. Agnes Catholic Church and many other Catholic Schools. Anita enjoyed traveling with her loving husband and best friend, Herve, in their motor home visiting 46 states. Many hours were spent sewing, especially making quilts for her family and friends. Anita loved her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband of 52  years, Herve Margloier Tellier; her children, Kristine (David) Ricketts of Cary, North Carolina, Joseph (Michelle) Tellier of Amherst, Ohio,  and Gretchen (Jonathan) Vaught of Frankfort, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Addie Tellier, Marin Tellier, Ellie Tellier, Lilly Tellier, Julia Ricketts, Rebecca Vaught, Elizabeth Vaught, Abigail Vaught, David Vaught and Emily Vaught; her siblings, Robert Figler of Canton, Ohio and John Figler of Cleveland, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her three infant sons; her sister, Mary Kathleen Reinhardt; and her parents, Robert and Verna Figler (nee: Wenger).

Friends may call Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  Closing Prayers will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria, Ohio.  The Rev. Fr. Charles Ryba, retired pastor of St. Agnes, will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests that any donations be made to LifeBanc of Ohio, 4775 Richmond Rd, Cleveland, OH 44128 where she actively volunteered in appreciation for the transplanted kidney that she was blessed to receive.
