Andrea Lea Schlenkerman

Andrea Lea Schlenkerman (nee: Ehlert), 71 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away October 11, 2023, at Mercy Regional.

Andrea was born March 4, 1952, in  Amherst, and raised there before moving to Lakewood with her husband. Vermilion has been her home for the last 17 years.  

Andrea was employed many years as a registered nurse at several hospitals and lastly employed as a massotherapist for Hospice of the Western Reserve. She used her skills in both nursing and therapy for many years to serve and touch the lives of those she came in contact with. Her distinctive laugh would light up a room and the hearts of those around her. She took care of so many in her lives from her children, grandchildren, to patients and friends. Her dedication to her family and her nurturing spirit will be missed by all.  

Survivors include husband of 49 years Ralph David Schlenkerman: her children, Christopher Schlenkerman of Cleveland, Jessica Procner (Stephen) of Vermilion, and Julie Schlenkerman of Vermilion; her grandchildren, Willow, Jack, Walter, and one on the way; and her sister, Nancy Boyer (Clayton) of Georgia. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irma Ehlert (nee: Mathes). 

Friends may call Friday, November, 10, 2023, from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.
