Alfred "Al" Wallace Obituary

Alfred “Al” Wallace, 82 years of age and a long time resident of Lorain, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022,  at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital following a brief illness.

Alfred was born June 30, 1940, in Cleveland where he was raised and lived in northeast Ohio until settling in Lorain in 1989.  He was employed by the Williams Company in the maintenance department for thirty years.  

Alfred was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.  He loved being outdoors sitting on his front porch.  He enjoyed model trains, watching westerns - especially John Wayne, and doing word search puzzles.

Survivors include his wife of thirty- three years, Maria F. (nee Vardous); his children, April and Carl Taliafferico of Cleveland Heights, Sandra and Eliot Kwait of Twinsburg, Alfred Wallace, Jr. of Cleveland, Paul Wallace of Cleveland Heights, Laura and Darren Ohman of Brookpark, and Mary and Kris Kramp of Avon; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his siblings, Joy and Paula Sue.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Dennis, and William; his sister, Darlene; and his parents, Paul and Florence Wallace (nee: Medlocik).

Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, from 11am until the time of service at 1pm at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd, Lorain, Ohio 44053.  The Rev. Fr. Christopher Zaferes, will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com.  Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp, Ohio.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd, Lorain, OH 44053.
