Agatha L. “Lynn” Banks (nee: McKibben), 78 years of age, and a resident of Amherst went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic Avon due to complications of COVID.
Lynn was born August 22, 1942, in Chickasaw County, MS and had made her home in Amherst since 1975.
Lynn was a beloved study hall monitor for Amherst High School for 18 years. She also worked as a secretary for IBO and as a self-employed floral designer for 15 years under the name LB Originals. Her love of God was her greatest passion and she had worshiped at Good Shepherd Baptist Church since 1971, where she was active in her service to her Lord. She treasured her family and loved being “Mimi” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of fifty-nine years Jerry “Pete” Banks; her daughter Cherie Lee (Mark) Stempowski and Kelly (Jeffrey) Karason both of Amherst; her grandchildren Zachary Karason (Justine), Ryan Karason, Codi Fitch (Josiah), Rachelle Stempowski, Taylor Stempowski; five great grandchildren as well as one on the way; and her sister Katie (James) Moore of MS.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Ken McKibben and Harry McKibben as well as her parents Bethard and Modelle McKibben (nee: Fergerson).
Due to COVID, services will be held privately by the family. It is the families hope to hold a public celebration of life service later this year.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1100 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, OH 44001.
