William "Ollie" Martin, 81 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at his home, following a full and meaningful life.
He was born January 5, 1937 in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. Ollie had made his home in Amherst for over fifty years.
Ollie was a loving husband and dad. He was a carpenter by trade and started Martin Construction in 1976. He served as a trustee for the Pentons Owners Group. Ollie enjoyed restoring Penton motorcycles and in his younger years he raced motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years Dorothy "Dollie" Martin; his son Albert (Janet) Martin of North Ridgeville, his granddog Dexter; his brother Wilbert (Frances) Martin of Elyria; and his sister Alberta Perkins of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Martin; his sister Bernadette Bruhn; and his parents Albert and Margaret Martin (nee: Hartman).
Friends may call Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Butternut Ridge Road Cemetery, in Grafton.
