George Wilson, 87 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
He was born July 12, 1925 in Lorain, Ohio where he was raised. George had made his home in Lorain for many years.
George proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was the owner and operator of George and Daisy's Lounge in Lorain for over thirty years. George was a member of The Church of St. Peter in Lorain.
Survivors include his daughter Sandra "Sandy" Mihuta (Wilson) of Lorain; sisters Pauline Haller and Lucille Kraly both of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years Daisy Wilson (nee: Dullick) in 2004; his daughter Georgene Wilson in 1974; his brother James Wilson; sister Deloris Nunez and his parents Vincent and Helen Wilson (nee: Dzoba), as well as son-in-law Tom Mihuta, brother-in- laws Joe Haller and Steve Kraly.
Friends may call Thursday, August 30, 2012, from 5:00 pm until the time of the Memorial service at 8:30 p.m., at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, pastor of The Church of St. Peter , will officiate. Graveside Service will will be held Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 555 No. Ridge Road, West Lorain. Military honors will be provided by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
