The Lord called home Joan (Hladek) Price, of Carlisle Twp, 76 years of age, on August 11, 2012.
She was born above her grandparents store in Lorain on November 18, 1935 to her parents Anna and Joseph Hladek.
During her teenage years she worked for her parents at Tower Drive In, among various jobs throughout the years.
Her most rewarding part of life was her faith in the Lord and raising her family. Her kindness, love and wisdom never went unnoticed. She loved the quiet whispers, funny stories, the little discoveries and simple pleasures she had with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to various states with her husband for his World War II Army reunions.
Our mother told us all whether being with the family or going home with the Lord, "I'm a winner either way", We love you mom and Mimi!
She is survived by her children Susan (Jeff Beaudoin) Barnette, Janice (William) Mariner, Jr., whom she made her home with since 1995, Robin (Ken) Gordon; her grandchildren Jessica (Mike) Kesterson, Matt (Wendy) Snyder, Melanie (Chris Rider) Snyder, Chrissy Gordon, Stacey Gordon, Nick Beaudoin, her great grandchildren Makayla Kesterson, Brandon Rhodes, Alecksa Esper, Luke Snyder, Gabe Beaudoin, Annabelle Snyder, Blake Rider, Makenzie Kesterson, Layanna Latorre, Abby Snyder; cousin Pat Tokarz, niece Deanna and nephew Joey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Price in 1995; and her brother Jerry Hladek.
Friends may call Monday, August 13, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church; 38550 Chestnut Ridge, Elyria. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Darrell Myers, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 38550 Chestnut Ridge, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
