A woman of great faith, congregations in both Ashtabula and Cleveland where her husband pastored we're blessed by her love and care before she and her husband came to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst. While caring for the members of St. Paul Lutheran Church Ellen' husband passed away however she remained a faithful member until her death. Ellen was an excellent seamstress, making not only her own clothing, but caring for the tailoring needs of many in the community and even on occasion making wedding dresses.

Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her sons Roderick Latvala of Amherst, Mark Latvala of Emsworth, Pennsylvania, daughters Thalia Latvala of Cincinnati, Charlotte (Tony) Savocchia of Sewickley , Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her sister Charolotte (Sergio) Cascardo of Orlando, Florida.
