Aline Marie Ehmling

Aline Marie Ehmling (nee: Hubert)), 84 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born September 11, 1927 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Aline was raised in Scranton, and graduated from Scranton Technical High School in the class of 1946. Amherst has been her home for the last seven years.

Aline was employed as a bookkeeper and credit manager at Penn Furniture in Scranton, Pennsylvania for over fifty years. She was an active member of Good Sheperd Baptist Church in Amherst, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and lead the Women's Prayer Circle. She loved people and volunteered her time at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially cats.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband Linda and Frank DelMonico, Jr. of Lorain, her grandchildren Kelly Fillip, Amanda DelMonico, Ashley DelMonico; great grandchildren Kyle Shreves, Haleigh Shreves and her beloved cat Tabby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-four years Ralph John Ehmling in 2004; her dear son Edward Ehmling in 1969; her brothers Charles, Paul and Arthur Hubert; and her parents Arthur and Gertrude Hubert (nee: Blackmore).

Friends may call Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Steven Mayes, pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mills City, Pennsylvania.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Baptist Church; 1100 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst, OH 44001.
